The television network TLC’s program My Strange Addiction features people with addictions most wouldn’t believe. In one episode, a woman named Lacey Wildd shared her addiction with the world—breast enhancement surgeries.
Over the course of twenty years, Wildd has spent $250,000 on 30 plastic surgeries. She states that her goal is to look as much like a Barbie doll as possible. One of the many plastic surgeries she has received is an implanted corset, which is made out of pig skin.
The 44-year-old addict is not in recovery and has no plans to cut back on her addiction. She is now planning another surgery to increase her breasts to size QQQ. This size will increase their weight to 42 pounds.
The Physical Impact of Extreme Breast Augmentation
It’s no surprise that Wildd’s body gets so much attention from those amazed by her obsession, but as you can imagine, it does cause her some problems. She is unable to lie on her back because the weight of her breasts causes her to feel as though she is suffocating.
When she is cooking, she can only use the back burners on her stove because she can’t lean over the stove without her breasts getting burned by the front burners’ flames. Sadly, her 16-year-old daughter is unable to hug her because of the massive size of her mother’s bust.
Speaking of her daughter, she is against her mother’s desire to go through surgery again stating, “I think she isn’t really thinking about our opinions. What if she dies? Is she taking that into consideration?”
Take a Step Back Before Getting Surgery
At Advanced Cosmetic Surgery of New York, we want patients to carefully consider all of the risks, complications, and benefits of breast augmentation. It is a personal decision that should be discussed in private with a Board Certified plastic surgeon or a highly qualified cosmetic surgeon.
At that time, both the doctor and the patient can review the benefits versus risks of the procedure as well as the expected results. If the patient concludes that she is ready to seek an extreme breast implant size, she has the right to do so, as long as she understands the risks involved. In fact, many plastic surgeons do not offer extreme plastic surgery simply because the risks far outweigh the benefits.
